OUR STORY
A Family Tradition
During the early 20th Century, especially during the Great Depression, certain ethnic and/or religious groups had a custom that the family and friends of the Bride & Groom each made their favorite cookies to be served at the wedding reception on behalf of the couple. My Nonni always referred to this as The Cookie Table.
This tradition has been passed on in our family, first from my immigrant great-grandparents, then my first generation Italian-American grandparents, next to my mother and now to me. Besides weddings, we always have a cookie table at family events like Christmas Dinner, Birthdays, 4th of July, Baby Showers, Anniversaries and Graduations, because a party isn't a party without The Cookie Table!
